Six Ways a Cosmetic Clinic Can Make You Look Younger Without Surgery

Want to look as good as you feel? Many people feel younger than the image they see in the mirror. Aging, sun damage, characteristic facial positions, and characteristic facial poses can promote wrinkles around the eyes, cheeks, forehead, and around the mouth. These days you can look younger without going under the knife. Following are six ways a cosmetic clinic can make you look younger without surgery.

1.Botox

A Botox cosmetic procedure, performed by a trained certified physician, is used to treat wrinkles and frown lines. Botox injections block chemical signals from the facial nerves that trigger muscles to contract. The process consists of injecting Botox into different facial sites using a thin needle. An individual may have several injection sites depending on the size of the area being treated. Botox cosmetic procedures usually take less than an hour and patients are able to resume their daily activities immediately. The results are observable within a week and typically last three to four months.

2. Juvederm

Juvederm is a smooth, injectable gel filler that can be used to revive problem areas including smile lines, unwanted wrinkles, and increase volume in the face and lips. This substance is a naturally occurring hyaluronic acid that is already present in the body. Hyaluronic acid delivers nutrients, acts as a shielding agent, and hydrates the skin by holding water. The results of Juvederm injections are immediate and typically last nine months to one year.

3. Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion treatments refresh and revive facial skin that is lightly scarred, discolored, sun damaged, or has fine wrinkles. The treatment involves using abrasive instruments which gently sand the skin. Two types of microdermabrasion are available which result in removing the denser, outer skin layer. One type is a handheld instrument and the other is a wand that has a diamond tip. The complexion is rejuvenated as a result of this process as it helps to thicken collagen; skin protein that aids skin in appearing tight and smooth. Initially, five to eight microdermabrasion treatments are recommended with maintenance treatments every two to three months. The results are noticeable immediately and the effects last indefinitely depending on maintenance treatments and proper skin care.

4. Skin Resurfacing (Sublative )

Sublative resurfacing is a cosmetic treatment that works from the inside out by stimulating cell regrowth to treat fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks, and acne scars. The procedure uses laser or light energy that is delivered below the skin without overheating the outer epidermis. The procedure takes less than 20 minutes for a full-face treatment. Results are visible immediately and no down-time is required. Skin resurfacing has been shown to be safe and effective for all skin types with varying degrees of pigmentation.

5. Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are skin-resurfacing procedures using chemical solutions which are applied to the skin to peel away the outer layers. The skin that grows back is smoother and more youthful appearing and the treatment is used to treat facial wrinkles, scars, and skin discolorations. Chemical peels can be done at different depths; light, medium, or deep by using different chemical solutions. Deeper chemical peels produce more impressive results but require longer recovery periods.

6. Photo Rejuvenation

Photo rejuvenation uses powerful broadband light rather than focused light used by lasers. The process delivers energy to both the outer and deeper epidermis layers but the skin surface is protected by a chilled crystal. The procedure is effective for treating freckles, wrinkles, blotching, enlarged pores, Rosacea, and dark spots. Most cosmetic experts recommend a series of treatments which last about 30 minutes. With proper skin maintenance, the smooth results can last for years.
